About Sail Away Club

We're cruisers helping cruisers find the best gear for their next voyage.

We actually cruise. Sail Away Club is run by our family, and cruising is what we do. We've sailed a lot: door magnets on every stateroom door, fish extenders swapped with neighbors we'd never met, pirate night costumes packed before shoes. The tips on this site aren't researched, they're lived.

We're also travel agents. And before that, Erik spent several years working for a major cruise line, which is where most of the tricks come from: what the gift shop actually charges, what's worth carrying on, and what you can skip because the ship has it. When we recommend something, it's because we'd pack it.

Sail Away Club started from a simple frustration: there are thousands of cruise accessories scattered across Etsy, Amazon, and specialty shops, and finding the good stuff means hours of scrolling through junk, knockoffs, and "cruise" items that clearly weren't designed by anyone who's actually been on a ship.

Our approach is simple: we curate. Every product category on this site represents real items we've either used ourselves, seen recommended in cruise communities, or vetted against reviews from experienced cruisers. We link you to the best of Etsy (for handmade and personalized items) so you can buy with confidence.

How We Make Money

Full transparency: our Etsy links are affiliate links, and any Amazon links we add later will be too. When you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small percentage at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running and the recommendations coming.

Our affiliate relationships never influence which products we feature. We recommend what we'd recommend to a friend heading out on their first cruise.
